Description
Faber Cristalfab White Pad — Professional Steel Wool-Free Cream Crystalliser
Traditional stone floor crystallisation has always come with a hidden problem: steel wool. The abrasive steel pads used in conventional crystallising treatments leave microscopic iron particles embedded in the stone surface and grout joints. Over time — often weeks or months after the job is done — those particles oxidise. The result is rust spots, grey discolouration, and a surface that looks worse than it did before treatment. The problem is difficult to correct and damaging to professional reputation.
Cristalfab White Pad was developed by Faber Chimica specifically to solve this. A water-based cream crystalliser formulated for white pad application on a single-disc machine, it delivers professional high-gloss crystallisation results on marble, granite, limestone, travertine, and agglomerates — with zero steel wool risk.
The Steel Wool Problem — And Why It Matters
Stone care professionals often accept steel wool oxidation as an occupational hazard of crystallisation work. Cristalfab White Pad removes the need to accept it at all. The switch from steel wool to white disc pad has three immediate practical benefits:
No oxidation risk — no iron particles embedded in the stone, no rust spots developing weeks after the job is completed, no callbacks.
No grout joint staining — steel wool particles lodge particularly easily in grout joints, where they oxidise and leave permanent grey or rust-coloured staining. White pad application eliminates this entirely.
Cleaner, more controlled application — a white disc pad under a single-disc machine gives consistent, even coverage without the directional scratch marks that steel wool can leave on sensitive polished surfaces.

Use Cristalfab White Pad where precision crystallisation on polished indoor surfaces is required and the elimination of steel wool risk is a priority. Use Buff N Shine for broader maintenance crystallisation and outdoor surfaces.
Key Features
- Steel wool-free crystallisation — eliminates oxidation, rust spots, and graying caused by iron particles from traditional steel wool treatments
- Dry buffing application — no water addition required; apply cream directly and buff to dry
- Cream formula — dense, creamy white compound that maintains consistent coverage across 0.5 m² sections
- High shine — produces professional-grade crystallised gloss with clarity and depth
- No layering defects — repeat applications build higher gloss without uneven finish between sections
- Up to 3 consecutive passes — worn or high-traffic surfaces can receive multiple applications in sequence for full restoration
- White pad compatible — designed specifically for single-disc machine with white polishing disc at 150–200 rpm
- Water-based and unscented — safe for indoor environments
- Indoor use only
- 36-month shelf life
Suitable Surfaces — Indoor Only
- Marble
- Limestone
- Travertine
- Marble-cement agglomerates
- Marble-resin agglomerates
- Granite
Indoor use only. Not suitable for outdoor surfaces.
Ideal Applications
- Post-installation crystallisation on new marble and stone floors
- Maintenance crystallisation on polished indoor stone floors in commercial environments
- Restoration of worn or heavily trafficked marble and stone surfaces (up to 3 consecutive applications)
- Any project where steel wool oxidation has previously caused problems
- Hotel lobbies, showrooms, galleries, luxury residential spaces — anywhere that finish quality and freedom from rust risk are non-negotiable
- Ongoing maintenance of A2 MIX or A3 Yellow treated surfaces where crystallisation maintenance is specified
How to Use
Surface Preparation
- Clean thoroughly, removing all dust and debris from the surface.
- Ensure the surface is completely dry — do not apply to wet surfaces.
- Work in sections of 0.5 m² at a time (smaller sections than other crystallisers for precision control).
- Apply at surface temperatures between +5°C and +40°C.
- Protect adjacent surfaces not being treated.
Application
Always test on a small, inconspicuous area before treating the full surface.
- Cristalfab White Pad is a creamy-dense white compound. If it has thickened in storage, shake the container to restore the creamy consistency. This does not affect performance.
- Pour approximately 1 teaspoon of product onto the 0.5 m² section to be treated.
- Immediately begin buffing using a single-disc machine fitted with a white disc pad at 150–200 rpm. Work in circular motions to distribute the product evenly across the section.
- Continue dry buffing until the product is completely dry on the surface — this is the key stage where crystallisation occurs.
- As you approach the edge of the section, broaden movements into the next area for seamless transition.
- Move to the next section and repeat.
- Once complete, remove dusty residues using a dry or slightly damp cloth, vacuum cleaner, or broom.
For worn or high-traffic surfaces: the same section may require up to 3 consecutive applications to achieve the desired result. Apply, dry buff, assess, repeat as needed.
No layering defects will occur — once maximum shine is achieved, there will be no visible differences between sections treated in separate passes.
Resuming Surface Use Remove all residues, rinse the surface with water, and the floor is ready for use.
Recommended Application Equipment
- Single-disc machine with minimum 2.0 HP (2.2 HP recommended)
- White polishing disc pad
- Set machine to 150–200 rpm
- Manual rotary brush as an alternative for smaller areas
