Description
When routine cleaning isn’t enough — go deeper.
Over time, even well-maintained tile and stone floors accumulate layers of residue that a regular neutral cleaner can’t shift. Old maintenance product film, surface patinas from years of foot traffic, grout and sealant haze embedded in textures — these build up gradually and dull the surface without obvious cause. Faber Tile Cleaner is the solution: a concentrated, slightly acidic water-based cleaner that penetrates inside the pores and textures of the material to dissolve and extract this embedded dirt, no matter how old or how stubborn.
It’s the professional’s reset product — use it before resealing, before polishing, or whenever a surface needs returning to its original appearance after a period of improper maintenance.
⚠️ Important — Acid-Sensitive Surfaces
Tile Cleaner has a pH of 1.5 and is acid-based. It must only be used on acid-resistant materials. Do not use on marble, limestone, travertine, or any calcium-based stone — these will be permanently etched or damaged. If unsure, test on a small unexposed area first.
For deep cleaning of acid-sensitive stone, see Faber 30 2.0 — the alkaline alternative.
Tile Cleaner vs Cement Remover — which do you need?
Both products are slightly acidic and work on acid-resistant surfaces, but they serve different purposes:
| Product | Best Use |
|---|---|
| Tile Cleaner | Removing surface patinas, old maintenance film, and ingrained dirt from established floors |
| Cement Remover | Removing cement residues, grout haze, and efflorescence immediately after new installations |
If you’ve just finished a tiling job and need to clean off grout residue, use Faber Cement Remover. If you’re restoring an existing floor that has accumulated build-up over time, Tile Cleaner is what you need.
Key Benefits
- Deep penetrating action — its special formula penetrates inside the pores and textures of the material, reaching dirt that surface-level cleaners miss
- Removes surface patinas — highly effective against the dulling patinas that accumulate from years of foot traffic and maintenance products
- Eliminates old maintenance residues — strips layers of old wax, sealant film, and cleaning product build-up that neutral cleaners cannot shift
- Two dilution strengths — adjust concentration to match the severity of the soiling, from light periodic deep-cleaning to heavy residue removal
- Concentrated formula — economical to use; 10–15 m² coverage per litre at working dilution
- Long dwell time — 10–20 minutes for full penetration and extraction of embedded soiling
- Indoor and outdoor use — effective across both environments

Dilution Guide
| Soil Level | Dilution | When to Use |
|---|---|---|
| Moderate — periodic deep cleaning | 1:3 (1 part product : 3 parts water) | Regular deep-clean of surfaces with some build-up |
| Heavy — ingrained patinas and old residues | 1:2 (1 part product : 2 parts water) | Established surfaces with significant accumulated film, or before resealing |
If results are not fully achieved on the first application, repeat the process — if necessary, slightly increase the concentration.
How to Apply
Surface Preparation
- Sweep or vacuum to remove loose dust, debris, and coarse surface dirt
- Ensure the surface is completely dry before applying
- Protect adjacent surfaces not being treated
- Check surface temperature is between +5°C and +40°C
- If working on a recently grouted surface, wait at least 2 days for adhesive and grout to fully cure before applying
Application
- Mix to the appropriate dilution for your soil level (see dilution guide above)
- Apply the solution evenly across the surface, working in manageable sections
- Begin working the product into the surface using a white pad and single-disc machine or a stiff brush
- Allow the product to act for 10–20 minutes, periodically agitating the surface to boost penetration and extraction
- Once the dwell time has passed, remove all residues and rinse the entire surface thoroughly with plenty of clean water
- If results are not fully achieved, repeat the process with a slightly higher concentration
Resume Surface Use
After thoroughly removing residues and rinsing, no further waiting time is required — the surface is ready immediately.
After Treatment — Recommended Next Steps
Once deep cleaned with Tile Cleaner, follow with the appropriate Faber maintenance product:
- Faber Alga Floor — for ceramic, porcelain, and tile floors requiring ongoing neutral daily cleaning
- Faber Clean 360 — all-purpose neutral daily cleaner for all hard surfaces
- For stone floors requiring sealing after cleaning, see the Faber Sealers range
