Description
Menzer Melamine Pad 406mm — Chemical-Free Deep Cleaning for Hard Floors
Melamine foam has a unique micro-abrasive cleaning mechanism: its open-cell structure is harder than most surface contamination but softer than the floor surface itself. When used wet on stone, tile, or concrete, the melamine fibre structure physically abrades and lifts dirt, organic staining, grease residue, and surface grime — without scratching the floor and without requiring any chemical cleaning product.
The Menzer 406mm Melamine Pad brings this technology to rotary and orbital floor machine use. Mounted to a standard single-disc machine on a 406mm drive board, it covers large floor areas efficiently — the scale of a professional deep cleaning job — with the water-only cleaning chemistry that makes melamine ideal for sensitive or food-adjacent environments.
Why Use a Melamine Pad?
For stone care professionals and floor maintenance contractors in the UK, the melamine pad fills a specific gap in the floor maintenance toolkit:
Chemical-free deep clean: On stone floors that have been sealed or polished, introducing unnecessary cleaning chemicals risks degrading the sealer or treatment. Water-only melamine cleaning is safe on all sealed, waxed, crystallised, and impregnated stone floors — no risk of stripping protection or dulling polished surfaces.
Pre-treatment preparation: Before applying a new sealer, polish, or crystalliser, the floor surface needs to be clean at a deeper level than routine mopping achieves. A melamine deep clean with water effectively removes accumulated maintenance cleaner residue, light soiling, and surface contamination without introducing chemical residue of its own.
Sensitive environments: Healthcare, food preparation areas, and commercial kitchens where chemical residue on floors is a compliance concern. Water-only melamine cleaning is unambiguously safe.
Terracotta and porous stone: On highly porous surfaces where chemical cleaners can be absorbed into the stone body, water-only mechanical cleaning avoids contamination of the surface being treated.

Key Features
- Chemical-free cleaning — water only, no detergents or degreasers required
- Melamine-on-nylon construction — very fine melamine coating on stable nylon carrier for mechanical cleaning action
- 30mm thickness — substantial pad depth for stability and consistent contact on uneven floor surfaces
- 406mm diameter — fits standard orbital floor machines
- Suitable for stone, tile, concrete, terracotta, safety floors and marble floors
- No perforation — solid construction for even contact pressure
- Safe on sealed and treated surfaces — no chemical interaction with sealers, polishes, or crystallisers
- Single pad per unit
How to Use
- Fit the melamine pad to a compatible 406mm drive board on the orbital floor machine.
- Lightly dampen the floor surface or the pad with clean water — the pad must be wet to activate the melamine cleaning action.
- Work the machine over the floor surface in overlapping passes at normal operating speed.
- For heavier soiling, apply additional water to maintain pad moisture during the cleaning pass.
- Vacuum or mop up loosened soiling and rinse the floor with clean water to finish.
The pad can be rinsed with water and reused until the melamine material is exhausted.
