Faber H2O Solid Wax — Water-Based Paste Wax for Marble & Natural Stone Worktops, Walls & Slabs

£13.50 + VAT

Faber H2O Solid Wax is a water-based paste wax for polishing and enhancing natural stone worktops, wall cladding, stone slabs, and other non-walkable surfaces. Its beige creamy formula polishes the surface, enhances tone and brightness, masks minor polishing defects, and — unlike solvent-based waxes — won’t yellow over time.

Applied with a cloth or white pad and polished in using a hand polisher or single-disc machine with a steel wool pad, it delivers a bright, natural-looking finish that deepens the character of the stone without chemical risk.

For indoor non-walkable surfaces only — worktops, walls, cladding, and decorative stone. Not for floors.

Description

Faber H2O Solid Wax — Water-Based Paste Wax for Natural Stone Surfaces

There’s an important distinction between products for stone floors and products for stone worktops, walls, and decorative elements. Floor products are formulated for traffic resistance and durability under foot. Surface waxes for worktops, cladding, and architectural stone have different requirements — they need to enhance the beauty of the material, protect against everyday surface contact, and do so without chemical aggression or yellowing that alters the stone’s natural appearance over time.

H2O Solid Wax is Faber’s water-based answer to this. From the Faber Made4Stone range, it’s a paste wax formulated specifically for non-walkable natural stone — polishing marble, natural stone slabs, wall cladding, and worktops to a bright, characterful finish that enhances tone, masks minor surface imperfections from the polishing process, and stays true to the stone’s colour without yellowing.

Water-Based — Why It Matters for Worktops and Decorative Stone

Solvent-based waxes are effective but carry risks for indoor stone surfaces — particularly lighter stones. The solvent base can yellow over time, subtly altering the tone of white or pale marble and limestone in a way that’s difficult to reverse. H2O Solid Wax’s water-based formula eliminates this risk entirely, delivering equivalent polishing and enhancement performance without any yellowing tendency.

The water-based formula also means a lighter, less chemical odour during application — H2O Solid Wax has a pleasant flowery scent — and easier cleanup with water.

Masks Polishing Defects

One of H2O Solid Wax’s more specific benefits is its ability to mask the minor visual defects that a mechanical polishing process sometimes leaves on stone — slight inconsistencies in the scratch pattern, hairline dull spots, or micro-abrasions from the final polishing stages. Applied and polished in over the finished surface, it smooths out these inconsistencies into a consistently bright, even result. Particularly useful as a final step after mechanical polishing of marble worktops or slab installations.

How to Use

Surface Preparation

  • Clean the surface thoroughly, removing all dust and dirt.
  • Ensure the surface is completely dry — never apply to wet or humid surfaces.
  • Optional: For denser stone or increased penetration, the surface can be gently heated before application.
  • Protect all adjacent areas not to be treated.

Application

Always test on a small, inconspicuous area before treating the full surface.

  1. Apply an even layer of H2O Solid Wax to the clean, dry surface using a cloth or white pad, ensuring full coverage.
  2. Allow to dry for a minimum of 10 minutes, maximum 40–60 minutes.
  3. Polish the wax using a hand polisher at maximum 1,500 rpm or a single-disc machine equipped with a steel wool pad.
  4. Allow to cure for approximately 12 hours before using any cleaners on the surface.

Maintaining the Finish If the surface loses its shine over time, simply reapply H2O Solid Wax and re-polish with steel wool — even by hand — to restore the original brightness.

Important: Wait at least 12 hours after polishing before applying any cleaning products to the surface.

Dewaxing
