Description

The Faber Defender is a 1.5 HP (220V/50Hz) professional single disc machine operating at 155 rpm with a 17-inch (430mm) working head and a machine weight of 36kg. It is designed for professional floor maintenance tasks including scrubbing, spray cleaning, light stripping, crystallisation and pad polishing on stone, marble, granite, terrazzo, porcelain, ceramic, cotto and other hard floor surfaces. The Defender operates on a standard 220V/50Hz UK supply and accepts all standard 17″/430mm driveboards, brush heads and pads — including the Crobber cro-connect modular brush system and MENZER floor pad range. It is the entry model in the Faber single disc machine range, suited to planned maintenance programmes, smaller floor areas and lighter restoration work where the sustained torque demands of the 2.5 HP Warrior are not required. • Soiling and light coating removal: Faber CottoSolv (alkaline wax and resin stripper) or Faber DEC 21 (solvent-based stripper) — applied and worked in with Crobber K80 or K180 grit brush
• Alkaline deep clean and mould or organic soiling: Faber 30 — applied with Crobber M Medium Brush
• Pre-seal mechanical pass: Melamine pad, water only — after chemical cleaning and rinsing are complete
• Post-restoration maintenance: Faber Alga Floor or Faber Neugel with white or green pad

Choosing Between the Defender and the Warrior

The Defender (1.5 HP, 36kg) is the right machine for most professional maintenance and lighter restoration work — regular programmes on residential and smaller commercial floors, spray cleaning, pre-seal prep and pad polishing. The Faber Warrior (2.5 HP) is the step up for contractors running full-day programmes on larger commercial floors, sustained heavy stripping work, or applications where maximum motor torque under continuous load is critical.
