Description
Arboritec Avenue 2K
Dual Cure, Nano Ceramic Formula — Two-Component Wood Floor Lacquer
How Avenue 2K compares to Bona Traffic HD
Bona Traffic HD is the name most trade professionals reach for by default when they think “high-traffic 2K lacquer” — which is exactly why it’s worth knowing how Avenue 2K stacks up. In independent blind lab testing of professional waterborne parquet lacquers, Avenue 2K achieved leading results for hardness, scuff resistance, and chemical resistance against high-traffic 2K formulations, backed by third-party fire (Bfl-s1) and slip-resistance (EN 14904, PTV 86) certification that not every competing product carries. See the full breakdown in our 1K vs 2K independent lab test results article.

FAQ
How long does Arboritec Avenue 2K take to cure? Avenue 2K reaches full cure in 3 days. The floor can typically take light foot traffic sooner, but avoid rugs, heavy furniture, and cleaning until the full cure is complete.
How many coats of Avenue 2K do I need? Apply 2–3 coats over your chosen primer, lightly abrading between coats for the best adhesion and finish.
Should I choose satin or semi-gloss? Satin (20 GU) is the most popular choice for both residential and commercial floors and suits most projects. Semi-gloss (45 GU) gives a richer, more reflective finish where that look is wanted.
Which primer should I use with Avenue 2K? It depends on the wood tone: Arboritec First Coat for lighter woods (oak, ash, maple), Seal Coat for an ultra-transparent, cool-toned base, Vibrant for darker woods (oak, walnut, exotic species), or Miracle Oil for a penetrating oil-based option.
Is Avenue 2K suitable for high-traffic commercial floors? Yes — it’s built for exactly that: retail units, school halls, and hospitality spaces. It carries a Bfl-s1 fire rating and a PTV 86 slip-resistance pass under EN 14904.
Is Avenue 2K low VOC? Yes — 60 g/L VOC content, with EMICODE EC1 “very low emission” certification.
How do I clean and maintain a floor finished with Avenue 2K? Use Arboritec Cleaner Concentrate diluted in water — it’s pH-neutral, safe on lacquered wood, and streak-free. Avoid acidic or solvent-based cleaners, which can degrade the finish over time.
How much Avenue 2K do I need for my project? Coverage depends on floor porosity and application method — check the Technical Data Sheet (download above) for exact spread rates, or get in touch with our trade team for a project-specific estimate.
